Curator Beatrice Galilee will transform La Rinascente's Design Supermarket into an interactive experimental lab space for 100 hours of rebellious creativity during Milan Design Week.

Hacked Lab has been created to provide a platform for young designers whose work is not typical of object-focused, conventional design exhibitions. The programme offers interactive, scientific and playful design events including workshops for downloadable buildings and astronauts peddling moon dust.

Caroline Hobkinson will deconstruct a dining table and its contents for Hacked Lab

Studio FormaFantasma will recreate their workshop within the store for the event, while Nelly Ben Hayoun will perform her own version of Milan's "background noise" for visitors, and food designers Honey & Bunny will make a one-off edible sculpture. London-based designer Dominic Wilcox, meanwhile, will compete against the clock with a 3D printer to create a model of the Duomo.

Site-specific works for the exhibition will include la Rinascente’s hacked colonnaded facade by Carmody Groarke and a flexible Hacked Lab stage by EXYZT.
